Edit Treatment Plan

Edit Treatment Plan

Saved, active, and inactive treatment plans can be edited. Double-click the Treatment Plan you wish to edit in the Treatment Plan Module.

Edit a Saved Treatment Plan

Once a Treatment Plan is signed, it can no longer be edited unless the signature is cleared. If the treatment plan is saved (not signed), the date, heading, note, and the responsible party can be changed.

When you double-click a saved Treatment Plan in the Treatment Plan Module, the following dialog will open.

Or, if the Treatment plan is signed, the bottom portion will include additional information, including a Clear Signature button. You will need to click the Clear Signature button to edit.

Date

The date field shows the date of the Treatment Plan.

Heading

The heading may show a generic name to start. It should be changed to something that helps identify the plan.

Note

The default treatment plan note is set in Treatment Plan Module Preferences. It can be changed for this individual treatment plan here if need be.

Responsible Party

The Responsible Party field is only visible if Public Health is turned on in Show Features. It's used to denote a third-party other than the patient or guarantor who is responsible for approving the treatment plan. The Pick option allows you to choose a name from your database, while the X button clears the name that's been entered.

Presenter

You must have "Edit Treatment Plan Presenter" Security permission to edit the Presenter field. It's used to denote the team member who presented the Treatment Plan. Click the ellipsis button [...] to choose a new presenter from a list. The list may display all users associated with your practice or all users associated with a clinic.

User Entry

The User Entry field displays the name of the user who was logged on at the time the treatment plan was saved.

Saved Document

The Saved Document field only displays when a Treatment Plan was signed and saved as a PDF. You can click "View" to open it.

Procedures

When a Treatment Plan is highlighted in the Treatment Plan Module, you can double-click on any associated procedure and the Edit Treatment Plan Procedure window will open.

The fields can be edited as desired and any changes will be local to this copy of the procedure. Changes will not display on the original procedure.

Edit an Active or Inactive Treatment Plan

Active and inactive Treatment Plans are fully editable, including switching the active/ inactive status, copying and removing procedures, and editing the heading and notes.

To edit an active or inactive Treatment Plan, double-click the Treatment Plan. The following dialog will open.

Heading

The heading may show a generic name to start. It should be changed to something that helps identify the plan.

Note

The default treatment plan note is set in Treatment Plan Module Preferences. It can be changed for this individual treatment plan here if need be.

Treatment Planned Procedures and Available Procedures

The window will have two boxes: "Treatment Planned Procedures" and "Available Procedures." The Available Procedures will contain all procedures that have been added to active and inactive treatment plans for this patient. The Treatment Planned Procedures list will be blank to start.

Highlight procedures on either list and click the blue arrows to move them back and forth as needed.

Status Column

The left side of each list will display a "Status" column.
  1. TP: A "TP" status means the procedure is part of an active treatment plan.
  2. TPi: A "TPi" status means the procedure is part of an inactive treatment plan.
Completed procedures do not display on either list.

Tth Colum

The "Tth" column displays the tooth number associated with the procedure.

Surf Column

The "Surf" column displays any tooth surfaces associated with the procedure.

Code Column

The "Code" column shows the billing code for the procedure.

Description

The "Description" column displays the description associated with the procedure.

TPs Column

The "TPs" column displays the total number of Treatment Plans the procedure is associated with for the patient.

Apt Column

The appointment status or statuses are noted in the "Apt" column.
  1. P = Planned: The procedure is part of a planned appointment.
  2. S = Scheduled: The procedure is part of a scheduled appointment and cannot be removed from an active treatment plan.
  3. U = Unscheduled List: The procedure is part of an appointment on the Unscheduled List and cannot be removed from an active treatment plan.
  4. B = Broken Appointment: The procedure is part of a broken appointment and cannot be removed from an active treatment plan.
  5. C = Complete: The procedure has been completed.
If the Apt column is blank, the appointment is not part of a planned, scheduled, or broken appointment.

Procedures

Unlike saved Treatment Plans, in which edits to a procedure remain local to that copy of the procedure, editing a procedure on an active or inactive plan also changes the original procedure. Double-click on any procedure and the Edit Treatment Plan Procedure window will open.

Make Active Treatment plan

Click the "Make Active Treatment Plan" button to make the plan active, then press "OK."
