Keyboard Shortcuts

Practice-Web includes many keyboard shortcuts that will help you work more efficiently. 

General Keyboard Shortcuts

Ctrl+D enters today’s date
Ctrl+P opens the Select Patient window, or, if in the Imaging Module with a PDF selected, opens the print window
Ctrl+Q displays available Quick Paste Notes
Ctrl+X opens the Referrals for Patient window
Ctrl+Shift+C opens the Contacts List 
Ctrl+Shift+F opens the Procedure Codes window
Ctrl+Shift+W opens the Wiki
Alt+O logs you off
 
Alt+F opens the File dropdown menu
Alt+S opens the Setup dropdown menu
Alt+L opens the Lists dropdown menu
Alt+R opens the Reports dropdown menu
Alt+T opens the Tools dropdown menu
Alt+E opens the eServices (Smart Tools) dropdown menu
Alt+C opens the Clinics dropdown menu
Alt+H opens the Help dropdown menu
Arrow Keys select the menu item in the direction you move

Note: You can also type any character while the menu is open and the next menu item with that character will automatically be selected.
 

Auto Notes Shortcuts

Right Click in a field to select the “Auto Notes” option
Alt+A takes you to the next prompt
Alt+B takes you to the previous prompt

Chart Module Views Shortcuts

F1 presents the default view
F2 shows progress  notes
*Your office can customize the views available and corresponding shortcut codes from within the Chart module by selecting the "Show" tab and clicking the "+Add" button. Try it!

Edit Appointment Window Shortcuts

C selects "Cancel" and will close the Appointment without saving if a note box or dropdown menu is not selected
O selects "Ok" and will save the Appointment and close it if a note box or dropdown menu is not selected
