Displaying Patient Pictures

The Patient Picture displays in the upper left of the Family Module. You also have the option for a Patient Picture to display as you hover over appointments in the Appointment Module. 

These images are added and maintained through the Images Module in a folder called "Patient Pictures," though this can be changed through Definitions: Image Categories. 

The most recent image in the folder will be the photo that displays by default.

Displaying or Removing Patient Pictures in the Images Module

To control whether Patient Pictures appear as you hover over appointments in the Appointments Module:
  1. Click Setup in the main menu.
  2. Select Display Fields.
  3. Double-click Appointment Bubble.
  4. Add Patient Picture to the Fields Showing list or remove it from the list depending on your preference.
  5. Click Save.

Adding Patient Pictures

There are two ways to add a photo to the Patient Pictures folder: dragging the image to the folder and direct from a TWAIN device such as a digital camera.

Adding Pictures Already Saved on Your Computer

Images can be imported by simply dragging the image from one of your Windows folders to the Patient Pictures folder in the Images Module.

Adding Pictures from Your Camera or Scanner

Practice-Web also has the ability to capture images from any TWAIN-compliant capture device, such as digital cameras, scanners, etc. 
  1. From the Patient’s Image Module, click on the folder that stores the image.
  2. Click on the Scan button. A dialog will open with a list of all the TWAIN compliant capture devices. Select the desired capture device.
  3. Capture the image, then click Save.

Deleting Patient Pictures

To delete a Patient Picture from the Images Module, simply locate the image you wish to delete within the Patient Pictures folder, right-click it, and choose the Delete option.
