Treatment Plan in Chart

Treatment Plan in Chart

You can create edit, and change the status of treatment plans in the Chart Module.

To get started, open the Chart Module and click the Treatment Plans checkbox. It's toward the right about halfway down the screen in the "Enter Treatment" tab. The Progress Notes section will be replaced by Treatment Plans.

Note: The checkbox will only appear if "Is TP View" is selected for the Chart View on the "Show" tab.

Active and inactive treatment plans will display in the Treatment Plans grid. Saved plans do not. The list may be blank if no treatment has been entered yet, but an active plan will be created when treatment is entered.

Select a treatment plan to have its associated procedures appear on the graphical tooth chart and Procedures list or select all treatment plans and all procedures will display on the Procedures list and tooth chart.

Create a New Treatment Plan

Click the "New TP" button next to the Treatment Plans grid to start. The following dialog will open.

Heading

The heading may show a generic "inactive treatment plan" name to start. Change it to something that helps identify the plan.

Note

The default treatment plan note is set in Treatment Plan Module Preferences. It can be changed for this individual treatment plan here if need be.

Treatment Planned Procedures and Available Procedures

The window will have two boxes: "Treatment Planned Procedures" and "Available Procedures." The Available Procedures will contain all procedures that have been added to active and inactive treatment plans for this patient. The Treatment Planned Procedures list will be blank to start.

Highlight procedures on either list and click the blue arrows to move them back and forth as needed.

Make Active Treatment plan

When your Treatment Planned Procedures list has the procedures you want on the treatment plan, click "OK" to save it as an inactive treatment plan or click the "Make Active Treatment Plan" button to make the plan active, then press "OK."

Status Column

The left side of each list will display a "Status" column.
  1. TP: A "TP" status means the procedure is part of an active treatment plan.
  2. TPi: A "TPi" status means the procedure is part of an inactive treatment plan.
Completed procedures do not display on either list.

Apt Column

The appointment status or statuses are noted in the "Apt" column.
  1. P = Planned: The procedure is part of a planned appointment.
  2. S = Scheduled: The procedure is part of a scheduled appointment and cannot be removed from an active treatment plan.
  3. U = Unscheduled List: The procedure is part of an appointment on the Unscheduled List and cannot be removed from an active treatment plan.
  4. B = Broken Appointment: The procedure is part of a broken appointment and cannot be removed from an active treatment plan.
If the Apt column is blank, the appointment is not part of a planned, scheduled, or broken appointment.

Add Procedures to a Treatment Plan

Locate the treatment plan or plans you want to add to in the Treatment Plans grid in the Chart Module and click to highlight. Then, chart treatment as you normally would, by selecting the appropriate teeth and adding procedures.

Change Priorities in a Treatment Plan

Select the treatment plan you wish to edit in the Treatment Plans grid. Then, select the procedures you wish to set a priority for from the Procedures grid and choose an option from the Set Priority List.

Note: Priority options can be managed by choosing "Setup" in the main menu, selecting "Definitions," and then choosing "Treatment Plan Priorities."

Make a Treatment Plan Active

One treatment plan will always have an active status and all others will be inactive. To select a new treatment plan as "active," double-click it in the Treatment Plans grid, click the "Make Active Treatment Plan" button, and click "OK."
